Marta Kloučková is an unmissable part of the Czech jazz scene. The multi-genre singer, songwriter and composer released her debut album Loving Season (Hevhetia) in 2018, which ranked among the best Czech jazz albums of that year. Her jazz quintet consists of leading Czech jazz musicians David Dorůžka – guitar, Vít Křišťan – piano, Jaromír Honzák – double bass, Marek Urbánek – drums. With her band she has performed at many Czech jazz and multi-genre festivals (Prague Spring festival, Smetanova Litomyšl, Jazz Fest Přerov, Dobršská Brána) and abroad (eg Sunset-Sunside and Le Bal Blomet Paris, Jazz fest Steyr (AT), Jazzy Fest (SK)). In October 2022, she released her second album Stopa snu (Hevhetia), which was highly critically acclaimed. She shared the stage with the vocal stars Lizz Wright and Judith Hill. In 2016 she also collaborated with an accomplished composer and pianist Thierry Maillard (album Kingdom of Arwen). With renowned vocal sextet SKETY (awarded Ward Swingle Award, 2014) she toured Europe, Australia and Taiwan. With the international music platform Voicingers, Marta performed in Slovakia, Poland, Latvia and France. Recently the music from her latest album (Stopa snu) was arranged by composer Petr Wajsar for a concert with South Czech Philharmonic (premiered in March 2024).
Marta is a graduate of the jazz college of Jaroslav Ježek in Prague, thus continuing her previous studies of performing arts at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. She has a master’s degree at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Economics in Prague. She is a member of vocal sextet SKETY and collaborates with ensembles and musicians across genres (Gustav Brom Big Band, B-side Band, South Czech Philharmonic, D.Y.K. and others). She hosts the radio show Sedmé nebe on Czech National Radio Vltava, with a focus on vocal jazz scene, also hosts concerts and live broadcasts. In 2019 - 2022, Marta organized a vocal festival and a workshop Voicingers on Tour Czechia. Being part of this music platform, she toured and performed with a number of top European jazz musicians and singers.
